STL submitted an entry to an international competition for the design of a cultural center located in the historic center of Pamplona, Spain. The final submission responded to an intensive study of the urban condition of Pamplona and concentrated primarily on the main auditorium. The auditorium was defined as a single volume with a strong urban presence. The interior was defined by the large curved expression of the interior seating arrangement. The pre-function space was maximized by locating the entry to the auditorium underneath the stage. Two vertical communication shafts are located at each side of the volume. Internally the auditorium can be subdivided into two unique spaces allowing for dual presentations to take place at the same time. 100,000 SF.
