Calibrated to the dynamic nature of urban living and real estate, Blue Island offers an adaptive reinterpretation of the traditional mixed-use model. Developed for a high degree of flexibility in the 22,000 square feet of apartments and retail space that occupy the proposal, the carefully proportioned facade allows for a high level of natural light while expressing the accommodating nature of the interior and responding handsomely to the prominent corner on which the project is sited. Attention to flexibility and an unpredictable real estate market result in a new anchor for Chicago’s emerging Pilsen neighborhood.
