Department of General Services

DGS responds to facilities needs of city departments, such as plumbing, carpentry or heating and air conditioning repairs. Each month, the department receives an average 2,168 work orders. Of that amount, approximately 170 are for emergency service. Seventy percent of these are handled within 3 days, and 100% are handled within 5 days.

DGS operates, maintains and repairs over 450 buildings, totaling about 3.5 million square feet.
